Not In Our Town is a campaign set up by artists in the Southend area to raise awareness of the suffering of wild and domestic animals used in travelling circuses. In particular we wish to highlight the use of animals by The Great British Circus that visits Rochford each summer.
In 2010, we gathered over 1000 signatures from the general public for a letter sent to the landowner, asking him not to support this cruel circus. We had no response from him.
Over £1000 has been raised at Not in Our Town events! All proceeds are donated to the animal welfare organisations mentioned here: We Support
